A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shadow an esthetician, and examine the specific procedures they perform in a clinical setting. I was taught about some of the biotechnology they use on their clients during treatments, some which has been developed more recently and others they’ve been using in their practice for years. Learning about the functionality of different technology, its purpose/why it was designed, and how they’re effective for certain treatments was enlightening. I was granted a better understanding of medical practices and how they can differ from one another through this observation. Their client-specific procedural strategies allowed me a greater perspective of medical conduction, and I now possess more knowledge to compare across practices and societies.
