The first week with choice

It has been nothing short of a milestone for my school district. One of the most significant aspects of my week was being given the option to wear a mask to high school. Without this option, I felt like my freedom to choose was suppressed. It was liberating just solely having the ability to choose whether or not I’d like to participate in wearing a mask or not. It has been almost two years since education consisted of visible smiles and actual interaction. Even though not everyone chose to go mask-less, to me it still impacted the way we learned greatly. And even though it was something so small it impacted the way I felt about going to school and receiving my education. So, one could say it’s something that tears apart our nation/state even further, but I would say it’s something that is bringing us closer to normalcy again.
